Gartner: Smartphone Nokia Still Number One

Smartphone Nokia - Gartner survey institute reported the results of smart phone sales end of the second quarter and shows a very surprising result compared to other reports. For the Gartner show Nokia is still the number one smartphone vendors.

Smartphone Nokia Winning Even Symbian Going Down

Indeed, according to Gartner, Symbian operating system which has been the mainstay of the Smartphone Nokia have taken over the position in the second quarter by Android. According to the survey, Google’s operating system controls 43.4 percent with sales reaching 46.775 million smart phones. While Symbian is in second place, a market share of 22.1 percent with shipments reaching 23.853 million units.

Launched by GSM Arena on Monday (8/15/2011), although Symbian defeated by Android, but Smartphone Nokia is still the number one vendor in terms of smartphone shipments in the second quarter of 2011. Nokia’s position is still being followed by Samsung, which continues to be a vendor topnotch.

From the survey results to Gartner, Nokia’s market share control of  smartphone with 22.8 percent. Finnish companies during this period was able to sell smart phones up to 97.869 million units. Meanwhile, Samsung managed to sell 69.827 million smart phones are able to master the market until 16.3 percent.

Then where is Apple? It seems that iPhone must be satisfied ih fourth posisition, which lost a lot of LG. Apple had to settle for a market share of 4.6 percent with sales volume of 19,628.8 million.
