Motorola Defy +: faster, Android 2.3, waterproof
The smartphone spill-resistant and dust Motorola Defy returns to a more rapid and Android 2.3 with the Motorola Defy +, to take whatever the weather with you.
The Motorola Defy + is a mid-range smartphone launched in late 2010 and was distinguished by its finish enabling it to withstand water splashes, sand and dust. Following the success of this model, the manufacturer announced the Motorola Defy +, whose appearance does not change but has more power.
The new model still has a shell protecting it from water splashes and dust (IP67, the 6 being fully protected against dust, and 7 protected against the effects of prolonged immersion few) and maintains same dimensions as its predecessor: 107 x 59 x 13.4 mm 118 g.
It also retains a touch display 3.7 “WVGA-resolution (854 x 480 pixels, Corning Gorilla glass) and back a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. It is now endowed with Gingerbread Android 2.3, together with the Motoblur touch overlay and has a 1 GHz processor with Motorola promises it brings 25% more performance in web browsing and multitasking.
Inside, there are 2 GB of internal memory and a microSD port (2 GB card included), WiFi connectivity and Bluetooth, FM Radio and an A-GPS module (with electronic compass). The Motorola Defy + terminal is also a quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE and dual band 3G with over 7 hours of battery life with its 1700 mAh battery.
The Motorola Defy + is expected in Europe in early autumn 2011 but its price is not yet known.
