The Smartphone Toshiba-Fujitsu IS12T Unveils In Mango
News Microsoft is particularly busy this morning, especially with regard to Windows Phone 7. We start with the first smartphone to actually touch the Mango market. It is produced by Toshiba, Fujitsu and is called IS12T. It will be sold in Japan , Thursday, Aug. 25.
One of the main characteristics of this IS12T is that it will be available in several colors. Toshiba, Fujitsu has chosen to stand out clearly through a range of colors that can be called “alive” so that we easily find the lost phone. However, there is a black model on which we can also issue a charcoal that does not exist as such in Windows 7 Phone, including Mango. The same applies to yellow.
The smartphone itself is a curious mix of characteristics that are very basic and more advanced. Thus, power side, there is the basic minimum required by Microsoft, namely a 1 GHz processor (Qualcomm’s Snapdragon here) and a 3.7-inch screen with a classic definition of 800 by 480 (WVGA). There are also the usual Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR.
But there are three attributes less conventional:
32 GB of flash memory, which makes the smartphone WP7 IS12T the first to own as many (all models have 8 GB, except Optimus 7 of LG which has 16)
13.2 megapixel camera: an impressive resolution, but the relevance of such a choice remains to be seen. She is accompanied by an LED flash.
Compatible with IPX8, which means the phone can remain submerged in water and is resistant to dust inlay
The IS12T will be sold tomorrow in Japan. As such, it has two communications chips, one for CDMA networks that exist in Japan, the other GSM (HSPA +) to give an international dimension. Japanese operator KDDI is the offering this phone, and the price target is about $ 250 with subscription.
It is recalled that the update for Windows Mango will ring the Phone 7 hours of actual test. If the original version had the opportunity to test the base and a first contact with the public, Mango is the real cavalry charge. It will be important to monitor sales and how operators will place these products vis-à-vis the iPhone and Android smartphones that concentrate the bulk of the attention.
